The serpent and the horned demon are both major symbols in my art. The horned demon can represent humanity, animalistic energy, ferocity or the darkness within nature, while the serpent can be a symbol of life itself, the pursuit of wisdom, survival needs or magic. I draw these characters because of not only their meaning but their beauty to me.

This piece shows the two battling together while a small tribe watches on. This piece for me shows the movement and fury as the two twist together, with their stories and feuds collapsing mountains and creating rivers while I, the small villager, watch on.

As I've gotten older I've seen things like government, religion, institutions, or other authorities taking over and battling where it feels like all I can do is watch on and accept whatever happens. To me embracing this is a part of life, yes a person should fight for their values, but sometimes all that is needed is the embracing of the things you cannot change.
