Burial Rites V2

My son found this little bat one morning on the lawn under a tree. Such a beautiful little creature. 

I wanted to make sure that the colour of the earth was a major feature of this arrangement. I have never seen earth like it - richest burgundy, ruby tones - felt like a place where the soul of the world bleeds out into the sand.

As with all of my arrangements the wild flowers and grass adornments were growing just near by - an ode to this special place.

Goodbye little bat.
